Chemical Safety Training

The Chemical Safety Course is now on-line! This course is available to all University staff and students with a valid CCID. It provides information on the safe use, handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals. The course will provide personnel with tools necessary to develop laboratory-specific procedures to protect both themselves and other workers in the laboratory. The on-line course must be supplemented with Laboratory Specific Safety Training.

Topics covered in the on-line course include:

• Routes of exposure and entry
• Chemical handling and storage
• Chemical fume hoods
• Chemical safety plans

All individuals working in laboratories are encouraged to take the Chemical Safety Course.

Prerequisite: Generic online WHMIS training and Laboratory Safety Training.

New - CCIS Fume Hood e-Class Training

A short instructional has been designed specifically for fume hood users within CCIS.  This course explains the proper operating procedures to be followed when working with the high performance/low flow fume hoods. This course is designed for personnel who are or will be working within CCIS ONLY.    To be enrolled in the course, please complete the registration form.  A confirmation e-mail with instructions on how to access the course will be sent to the e-mail that is provided.  Currently, course registrations are processed on Mondays.
